Provident Fund is a retirement scheme for salaried individuals. It is a fund scheme wherein both employer and the employee make an equal contribution every month. Usually, the contribution both have to make is 12% of the basic salary and DA, every month. The employee can benefit from this investment upon retirement. How to Check Your PF Withdrawal Claim Status Online?

Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is a statutory body. It comes under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. To claim Provident Fund, a request has to be raised to EPFO. On requesting the PPF withdrawal, you may not get to know the PF status of requisition soon. Thus, you can follow the EPF balance inquiry online process rather, wherein you have to provide the following information:

  • PF balance check with UAN number (Universal Account Number). It is a 12-digit number that an employer contributing to the EPF has. A UAN will remain the same throughout your life, irrespective of the times you change your job. You will be allotted a new member identification number by EPFO when you switch a job. This ID will be linked to the UAN.
  • Provident Fund Account number (It is an alpha-numeric code where the first two letters state the regional office. For instance, DL/54321/9876. Here DL is the regional office code.
  • EPF regional office of the employer to know the exact EPFO claim status online.
  • Extension code (if any)

Step 1: Visit the EPFO portal and access the tab, ‘Our Services’. Select ‘For Employees’ from the dropdown.

Step 3: Provide your UAN. Enter the details in the ‘captcha’ field, as shown in the captcha image.

Step 4: : Enter the state where your PF office is based in. From the dropdown menu now select the PF office. Provide the establishment’s code and your Provident Fund account number.

Step 5: Click ‘Submit’ and get the status of your PF claim, promptly.

Receive SMS Alerts

You will receive an SMS alert on a mobile number linked to the account. The alert will be sent on receipt of the claim application, PPF balance check number, and on the transfer of funds to your bank account. The SMS includes your account number and the total PPF balance check.

If you wish to take out money from your EPF account, then you can go for either full or partial withdrawal. The withdrawal’s reason should meet the criteria set by the EPFO. The right type of PF withdrawal form will depend on the reason for withdrawal, your employment status, and age. Along with the form, you will have to provide your Aadhaar details and UAN number.

  • If below 58 years of age, withdrawing the amount due to physical disability causing unemployment, then you need the Composite Form.
  • For nominees, Form 28 and 10D are available. A nominee can only apply for withdrawal if the deceased had completed a decade in employment. If not so, then the person will need to provide the Composite Form.
  • If withdrawing money for LIC policy, then you require Form 14.
  • Form 13 is required in case you want to change a job and transfer the PF amount to the EPF account.
  • Form 514 will help you to settle the EDLI (Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme) amount.

  • Click on ‘Sign in’ and you will get to your UAN member profile
  • Now from the menu’s dropdown, select ‘Online Services’
  • Click ‘Track Claim Status’
  • The screen will show the results

After downloading the UMANG App on your mobile phone, do the following:

  • Click on the ‘EPFO’ option and select ‘Employee Centric Services’
  • Go to the option ‘Track Claim’, provide the UAN, and click ‘Get OTP’
  • An OTP will come on the mobile number you have registered with the EPFO
  • After entering the OTP, click ‘Login’
  • In doing so, the screen will show the claims done for the UAN, claim status, claim raised date, tracking ID, and other details

There are ways to check EPF status offline as well. You can do so through a missed call on 011-22901406. This is a toll-free number. But you have to give a missed call from your registered mobile number. Once you hear a ring, the call will get disconnected on its own. After this, you will receive the EPF claim status and details through an SMS.

Remember that to avail of this facility, your KYC should be completed with UAN. Also, this facility is for those who already have an activated mobile number on the unified portal of UAN. The KYC procedure will require you to link Aadhaar and PAN numbers with your bank account number.

Another offline way to check the EPF status is by sending an SMS to 7738299899 through your registered mobile number with EPFO. On doing so, you will see the details of the claim status. Also, in doing so, you will see the details of the claim status. Also, you will get to know the balance details with the last PF contribution.
