PAN Card Status

After application, it normally takes around 15 working days for an individual to receive PAN card. The government has made it easy for the applicants to track the status of their PAN card application by providing a 15 digit acknowledgement number which can be used online/ offline for this purpose. It needs to be noted that tracking can be done after 3 days of application since the initial processing may not be done online and hence it becomes difficult to track the application. There are following three ways of tracking the PAN card application:

  • SMS
  • Telephone call
  • Online
Tracking your PAN card status online:

The online tracking mode is the fastest and popular most mode of tracking the PAN card application. One needs to wait at least for 24 hours to track a PAN card application after submitting it online. The following steps can be used for tracking purposes:

  • Applicants then need to choose the application type (new PAN or updated information) and submit required details along with the 15 digit acknowledgement number, full name and date of birth.
  • After the applicants submit the necessary information, a result page will be shown with the PAN card recent status.
