Aadhar Card Data Update Process

Modification/ alteration in the Aadhar card data/ details is possible both online as well as offline, One just requires identity proof. Address proof, photographs and birth certificate to update the Aadhar card details. If the registered mobile number (with UIDAI) is correct, information can be updated by following steps

  • One needs to log on to the official Aadhar Self Service Portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update and enter the Aadhar card number in the field provided.
  • Just below the card number field there is text verification number field, where the user needs to enter the mobile number to generate OTP (One Time Password)
  • Once the user receives the OTP, it needs to be entered in the field and hence logging into the Aadhar account is done. Now, indicate the incorrect data on the card by clicking on 'data update request' and enter how the rectification/ update need to be made. After that fill in the personal and contact details.
  • One needs to submit an official copy of a recognized document which validates the change at 'documents required' section and then select/ choose the BPO service provider by clicking on 'BPO service provider selection' option on the resulted page. One can choose either Aegis or Karvy and hit enter.
  • Download a copy of the update verification and the process is over.
Update Aadhar card details via post

In order to update Aadhar card data via postal service, one can download and print the 'Aadhar data update/ correction form' from the link https://uidai.gov.in/images/UpdateRequestFormV2.pdf.

After filling up the form, sign it duly, attach proof of identity and proof of address, and send it to either of the following addresses.
